WHY ASK FOR A PART, WHEN YOU CAN GET THE WHOLE? by Peter Salama Tisan

Image
The Chronicles of King Solomon had always been a reference point for me, when it comes to the acquisition of knowledge, understanding and their application which is wisdom. I had always esteemed him high in my thoughts and speech, but then I was privilege to see something entirely different about him.  We've read and applauded him for the great sacrifice he offered to God. The dimension that amuses and is of keen interest to us, was when God asked him what he wanted, he asked for wisdom instead of riches, wealth or honour. As I was ruminating over this Biblical event, a question was dropped in my spirit, which is" why ask for a part when you can get the whole?".  Was there something more important Solomon could have asked for instead of Wisdom? Okay, even if Solomon's request wasn't in alignment with God's will, why did God grant his request?  The surpassing need a man has above other needs, is the need to know God more and being intimate with Him.

GIVING By Peter Salama Tisan

Whenever we give divergent or subjective views against the standards of the Word of God, the sole aim is just to suit our own selfish desires or motives. Giving is one of the basic element of Christianity that has been subjected to scrutiny and criticisms (destructive),because of some reasons that derives its validity from selfishness.  Giving is the number one proof of the existence of love between two or more parties. Giving is an evidence of love and without it, love looses its validity. God does not demand for our tithes, offerings and first fruits because He needs them; He has more than enough of them, don't forget that "the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof". But each time He ask us to give to Him, He wants to test our measure of love and faithfulness towards Him. Our love for God in giving is not measured by the quantity of what we have offered, but actually what we have left, after we have offered. The widow who gave her two mites, gave all she ha

THE ROAD TO SUCCESS: YOUR DESTINY IS IN YOUR HAND - Michael Emmanuel D. and Bala Benjamin H.

Success by definition means "achieving your set goals, objectives and potential in life". There are no shortcuts to greatness in life. The journey on the road to success is a risk one must take, it is how we set up our motives and struggle to make it in life. This road is so coarse and bumpy that we have to be wise and not get weary along the way. If we must make it, we must apply wisdom to strive in our journey to ensure we always move forward and not backward in life. The road to success is built upon determination, handwork, discipline and diligence. Every individual on this planet earth has a purpose and the hunger to achieve great things in life. We have dreams to be accomplished and fulfilled. This blossom dream won’t come completely easy as we anticipate. We have limited time in this life and if we must make it, we need to use this time wisely. Our set goals define our priorities, our fashion and our actions. They help us impose voluntary discipline, sacrifice an

"All animals are equal But some animals are more equal that the others" Contents of a little book A sentence with a never ending root A relativity that can never be overemphasized How my nation is aware of it's current state Yet enjoys the shackles of oppression How we constantly complain of depression But when its time to choose We deliberately develop dementia Forgetting our pain, Our hunger Our sorrows Forgetting how neglected we were All for temporary little coupons To recycle the same old representatives Who are obviously more equal than the others All for democracy Power to the people But power to a more equal selected few Our food is sour But we chew with smiles on our faces Suffering and smiling Loving the shackles on our hands and feets Joining black lives matter campaigns Yet still being slaves to fellow black lives Mental slavery!! Enticing you with promises Yet allowing miscreants, To massacre you Rape your children Kidnap your folks Still they keep your hopes

The Storm of Addiction by Peter Salama Tisan

Someone must have talked you into doing this, or you got into it yourself - and the first time you tried it, it was nice and cool and you enjoyed it. It was something that pleased you, so you kept on doing it. But right inside of you, you knew what you were doing was wrong and then, you began to feel that this whole thing is stealing from you gradually some things that you value but you can't just place your hands on what is being stolen, so you decided to push away this feeling that seem to be a danger signal and continued in this path. Now you can clearly see what this has stolen from you; it stole the relationships you worked hard to build with the people who genuinely love you, it stole your success, your finances, your health, your peace, your joy and most importantly - it stole your life. You willingly opened your heart to this enemy who disguised to be a friend and a solution to all you problems. Right now, you really want to let this enemy out, but it won

What is Love By Edokpa Ephraim Esoche

There was once a question that brushed my friend's heart, although he couldn't respond to it. "What can you say about love when you've never experience, known, or been into love?" He was shocked to hear that Someone like me had never been in a romantic relationship. It made me laugh as I replied - "Do you truly understand what love is?" Astonished he asked, "What is Love? "God is love" I replied, all he does is love and care. "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." - 1 John 4:8 Love is the Fruit of the Spirit Love is in us, all we need is demonstrate and exercise this love. Love is the summary of Paul's first epistolary message to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 13). There's no doubt that love is Agape Which is the unconditional and purest kind of love. It is the kind of love from mother to child, this love is pure, true, perfect and real. The Agape Love is

UNITY By Ayuba Michael

Image
INTRODUCTION One of the challenges Christians and the body of Christ face this generation is that of disunity, which has taken different forms and patterns ranging from differences in denominational practices, doctrines and believes, to conviction on certain biblical principles and values. Although these issues are not controversial in the Spirit, Christians have perceived them differently and this has made the topic of unity a must teach topic that should be considered among believers and followers of Jesus Christ our Lord. DEFINITION Unity is the state or fact of being one undivided entity. It also means to have one purpose and goal by more than one person or entities. Jesus while praying for his disciples in John 17:6-19 also prayed for us in 17:20-21 “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee that they also may be one in us: that the world may

I AM A MONSTER

Am a monster, Am a demon, Am a terror, a criminal…. My footsteps sentence a near death experience, Am bad news, To be feared and ignored, Why? Cause I carry calamity I am dreadful Am a pain, Deserving nothing but to be casted out But above all this Am a CHILD If you will but please Look past all this and love me I will come alive I long for the day you will hold me, Hug me and scold me, The day you will rebuke me and love me, Not cause am beautiful, But cause you're sweet, Not cause am good, But that you're nice. I look up to you daily with my soulful brown eyes, You're my hero, I don’t know how to love and so I admire you, With my small hand fit for a napkin I try to hold you, Just maybe if you hold on to me, You can lead me to that perfect life. WORDS BEYOUND WORDS By Benjamin Bala H.

My father used to tell me when I was a child, that I will not understand these things.  He used to say that all the spanks, slaps and shouts were meant to mould me into the perfect being. I clocked eighteen, still they seemed so complex and abstract. I wondered what these things were. When it got to my troat, I would yell and say;  "You think you know better than I do? Do  You think you know me more than I do?  It's my life! , its my time! , you try to control me so I would  become you. No!!!"... All I ever wanted was to be free.  But come to think of it, "Was I right, or wrong? Could I even survive a day without him around? Am I truly destined to be free? " I have had the difficulties myself  understanding these complexities. Yet whenever he spoke he would  say " No!  be better.  These things will not make sense to you right now ,  but someday, they will". By 25 I had evolved. I went into the world, got exposed, met slot of people, learnt the

Life Without Rules

Image
There is a battle which rages within every man. That between strength and weakness. The unfortunate dilemma, of which our human flesh has been made slave to, continues to eat deeper and deeper into us.  What then, is weakness? Who is strong?  What assures us of our strength, or threaps us of our weakness? Is not man, but a helpless pawn on the board of life? Subject to whatever fate is thrown at him? How then can we attribute strength on the survey of the eye, or weakness based on gossip?  But isn't the strongest man weak? Or the weakest man strong?
