Don't Give Up by Benjamin Bulus Apanda

Image
DON'T GIVE UP!! Life is not smooth sailing With bells always ringing. It has its up and downs, And it smiles and frowns. Not all days are sunny and bright, Few things are achieved overnight. To attain what is good and right, You need to struggle with all your might. When things turn out wrong, Don't think all is gone. When things becomes tough, Its time you turn tough. There is no success without failure, Hardship and pain - you have to endure. When you fall or get hit, Do not give up or quit!

Life Is Mysterious by Michael Matthew

Image
Get set! Don't be rowdy, because life is cloudy. Cool are the days to come, no one knows the sum. Listen, life is mysterious! As deluded this day life has become, full of evil, The mindset of humans have been enslaved Under control by the forces of darkness. The race has become fierce in an uncontrollable progression. Life is, but an empty dream! The soul that slumbers, is nothing but dead. Things are not what they seem. The challenges of life, has made most screened imaginations bound. we need to be consecrated. Your life speaks of who you are, we afar from what we are. Who do you think you are? An existing being, confused of humanity, claiming Christianity? Do you really know what you’re worth When you receive Christ into your life? Life is a succession of choices. A choice to receive eternal life, and a choice of eternal damnation. The world seem to dominate life, because life is inferior, we need superiori

ECHO By Akinyemi Mary Stephanie

Image
Echo O wonder soul O broken heart Searching   where you belong Moving to and fro Looking north and west But no place to call home You wonder the whole earth in circles Searching for a place to call your own but nothing to atone nothing   to calls to you And you wonder Am I alone on this earth? That’s when You hear the still voice call And then it feels like you’ve found it Something snatches it from you and then you’re back to the beginning Moving in circuit Finding a place you belong About the poet Akinyemi Mary Stephanie is a writer and literary critic and counselor. Mortal, Immortal me by Akinyemi Mary Stephanie

Image
Mortal, Immortal me I realise immortality Is not for a mortal like me. Strange how I could live And attain hall of fame; Still one day comes and Dawns, but I won’t be Among the other mortals like me. I will be gone. But still… I live in the heart of those I’ve touched until they too Go and be no more. I will transcend to the mouths of those They’ve told of me The mark I left when they look they see me. I live. I will become like the countless stars In the sky shining my Light only at night and Not dawning as the day comes About the Poet Akinyemi Mary Stephanie is a writer and literary critic and counselor. FINDING ME by Akinyemi Mary Stephanie

Image
FINDING ME Look what I’ve become An impulsive step to finding me An unsought act of life I’m hurting me, my other self or Him I hurt when I think of it I don’t know if I should take that step of letting go I don’t know if I should make right my wrong Or if its fate playing its role Funny how I’m not ready to take that step of letting go I don’t want to let go Call it selfish or wishful, I want to take it all It messages, it calls, its attention… Even though I know it wouldn’t last forever We will be forced to wake up to life’s call But for while I can still have it, I want it Strange how we take it on ourselves to hurt us How easy it is to really break it all by ourselves our own I hurt all by my own doing I feel broken thanks to me Fill ed with the capacity of breaking me. Only in this moment when I feel down and wishing For me everything is Different from what it is I hope and pray I am enough

Just Human by Akinyemi Mary Stephanie

Just Human by Akinyemi Mary Stephanie I've lost count the number of times I mistook Wednesday for Friday. It gets confusing when it's like my life is in a limbo, Where I don't keep record of the happenings around me. Alas, the world where people who are supposed to love you and lookout for your best interest are also the ones who hurt you More. How do I explain to my sister that her husband wants something from me that he could get easily from her without much fuss? How do I say I wish the best for him when every time   I see him? I just wish he could disappear from the surface of the earth without dying so I don't feel the guilt for his death And then search in my eyes for the tears I long to cry For all the years he touched me without my consent, For the bitter taste in my mouth I feel anytime I want to ask him for help and then he starts with his definition of love - I'd say lust, For the days I wished I never had to be

FROM THE UNMADE CHILDREN BY PETER SALAMA TISAN

We are created in heaven,  We are made on earth.  While the Trinity mold us and breathe  life into us,  Our parents form us and give us identities.   Our families give us the life we now live,  The society only strengthens that life.  A man is a product of the society,  But first of all manufactured in a family.   Parents, like tailors  And we, like unsewn clothings,  Are left helplessly, at the mercy     of our parents  To sew us based on their knowledge and wisdom.   At risk are we,   when our parents know nothing  on child upbringing.  The same calamity  befalls your piece of clothing,  When the tailor is devoid of skill.   Parents:  When you lack understanding in raising     godly children,  Don't call us forth.   If you are not ready to fight for us on your    knees,  Leave us alone, don't bother beckoning.   If you won't give preference to our      spiritual education,  Allow us to stay back in heaven.   If giving us back to Go
