        "EXCEPT A GRAIN OF WHEAT..." By Peter Salama Tisan  He opened His palm again, And looked at His Precious grain,   His grain of wheat. This grain  He loves so much, And will not trade it for anything. But He knew that the real life of this    grain,lies in it being a seed, And that the beginning of its destiny   is being in the earth. Considering the deadly experiences His    grain would go through in the earth, He is resentful. But certainly, there would be the emergence    of a new life. Also the bountiful harvest of more precious   grains of wheat. So He opens the earth, And plants the seed - His grain    of wheat.  He left.  So the seed coat begins to rip off The seed gradually dies, And finally it gave up the ghost. But the EMBRYO, the beginning of a new life, never...

Echo O wonder soul O broken heart Searching   where you belong Moving to and fro Looking north and west But no place to call home You wonder the whole earth in circles Searching for a place to call your own but nothing to atone nothing   to calls to you And you wonder Am I alone on this earth? Mortal, Immortal me I realise immortality Is not for a mortal like me. Strange how I could live And attain hall of fame; Still one day comes and Dawns, but I won’t be Among the other mortals like me. We all must at one time watched a Nollywood movie of the spirit of a dead man who brought those responsible for its death to book, the spirit or ghost is usually relentless, frustrates and threatens its killer(s) until they confess their deeds. In such movies it is not uncommon for the spirit to retain the outfit with which it met its death and blood stains usually ooze from its mouth even if it was shot or stab in the stomach. Such movies imprint in our minds a lesson: the spirit of a man will always stay behind to complete the task a man’s death stopped him from, that the spirit of a dead man will always seek and accomplish its vengeance before taking a rest in the land of the spirit.
